PanoSalado file structure & HTMLI finally managed to get the thing compiled, somehow, but now I'm a bit stuck on what all the different files and folders are for? Do they all need to be uploaded along with the panosalado.swf file and the pano image file? Also, in the Basic HTML Embedding tutorial, it mentions about SWFObject and moduleloader, but doesn't actually explain what they are or why they're needed. Moduleloader seems to be in amongst all the files that were downloaded, but it's an AS file- presumably I need to compile it if it's needed? If so, what else needs to be compiled? I hope the answers to these will be enough to get me up and running, so your help's appreciated Hi Dejacque: No worries... In the example download (not source download), you have some folders and files:
I would start with the examples download. Step away from the source. Put some panorama files into the "images" folder, and then just modify PanoSalado.xml so that your images are listed. This will let you see your own images, using the already compiled ModuleLoader.swf and UserInterface. Once you play around with the XML, you'll get a feel for it... The ModuleLoader.as and UserInterface.as files are included in the source download, so that you can modify those as you see fit, and then compile them out and use them. ModuleLoader shows the AS needed to properly load in the various layers (listed in the XML file); UserInterface shows you how to put actions on buttons and such, which will interact with PanoSalado and make it do things. If you want to add other layers or SWFs on top of PanoSalado, add them to the XML file in their own tag. Order is important, so put them at the top, with the one you want highest up (closest to the screen) at top, followed by the others. Likewise you can remove or comment out the layers you don't want included. You might never need to (re-) compile PanoSalado.as, since you can just use the SWF that's already compiled in the examples download. PanoSalado.as is the engine that makes PanoSalado do what it does; If you want to roll up your sleeves and make it better, have at it. Does this help? where did the examples go
Patrick,
In your 'PanoSalado file structure & HTML' response to Dejacque (August 24, 08) you refer to the 'example download (not source download)'.
Could you send a link as to where they're available please.
Thanks
James
re: where did the examples go
Hi James:
There's a link in the sidebar at this site to the source code -- once you follow that link, you can search the downloads list for all downloads, and the example(s) are available.
This site (flashpanos) isn't monitored officially anymore. If you head over to http://panosalado.com, you can get links to the API and source, and full forums.
Cheers,
Patrick
